Specific to India
- Online / digital submission: Square JPEG only (height equals width), at least 350 × 350 px and at most 1000 × 1000 px, no borders. The e-Visa portal accepts 10 KB to 1 MB; the regular sticker-visa portal caps files at 300 KB.
- Printed copies: None for the e-Visa (upload only); 2 × 2 × 2 in prints for a regular visa through VFS or BLS
- Full head from top of hair to chin inside the frame, centred, no shadows on the face or background.

51 × 51 mm (2 × 2 in). The head, measured from the top of the hair to the chin, must be 25–35 mm, with the eyes 29–35 mm above the bottom edge.
What is the India visa photo size in pixels?+
At 300 dpi a 51 × 51 mm photo is 600 × 600 px; at 600 dpi it is 1200 × 1200 px. This tool exports at 600 dpi.
