🔒 Runs in your browser — your photo is never uploaded
Free passport photo maker — the right size, checked against the rules
Upload any portrait. It is cropped to the exact size, the background is made plain, and every measurable requirement is checked — then download a print-ready sheet.
From a phone snapshot to a compliant photo
You don't need a studio. Take a picture against a wall and the tool straightens the head, scales it to the required 25–35 mm, positions the eye line, and replaces the background with plain white — without retouching your face.
How it works
- 1
Choose your document
Pick the country and document. The exact size, head height, eye position and background colour are loaded for you.
- 2
Upload any portrait
Your face is found, the head is levelled and the photo is cropped to the millimetre. The background is made plain. Nothing is uploaded.
- 3
Check, download, print
Every measurable rule is checked. Download a single photo, a small file for online forms, or a 4 × 6 sheet of six to print.
Measured against the official specification
Photos are rejected for small, measurable reasons. Each one is checked and reported in plain language — with the actual millimetres — so you can fix it before you print.

How to take a photo that passes
Full guide: background, lighting, clothing →Plain wall, step forward
Stand 0.5–1 m in front of a plain light wall so your shadow falls out of frame.
Face the light
Soft daylight from a window in front of you lights both sides of the face evenly.
Camera at eye level, 1.5–2 m
Ask someone to take it with the rear camera. Leave space around head and shoulders.
Neutral and square-on
Head upright, eyes on the lens, mouth closed. Wear a plain coloured top, not white.

Questions
All questions →Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Face detection, cropping, background replacement and the compliance checks all run inside your browser. The photo never leaves your device, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
How do I print it?
Download the 4 × 6 sheet and print it on 4 × 6 inch (10 × 15 cm) photo paper at 100% / actual size — at home or at any photo kiosk or lab. Then cut along the grey lines. The files carry 600 dpi so they print at the true size.
Will my photo be accepted?
The tool enforces everything that can be measured — size, head height, eye position, centring, pose, exposure, background and sharpness — and lists the few rules you need to check by eye, such as glasses glare. The issuing authority always has the final say.
What about babies and children?
Tick “Child under 10”. Head-size, eye-position and expression rules are relaxed for children, and babies under one do not need their eyes open. The child must be alone in the frame — no hands, toys or chair backs.
